RISE Scholars, Inc. is a dynamic educational non-profit dedicated to empowering students at Hamilton School in Novato, CA, to ignite their full personal and academic potential. Our mission is to provide students with a range of targeted curricular and co-curricular opportunities to foster a growth mindset, a positive attitude, and high achievement. SummerHawks is a 5 week program during the school summer break to encourage continuous education. We utilized IXL, an online math and English platform where students get to learn from their own level and excel at their own pace. We incorporate classes such as chess, stem, art, and athletics to show variety and allow our students to get a well rounded education.
Lead teachers are a crucial role within our summer program and give students the support they need to succeed for 5 weeks. Each lead teacher will have one class of 15 students from grades 2nd - 8th. They will work along with high school class aids who will support the classroom during various activities.
The program runs from July 1st - August 2nd with a one week mandatory training from June 24th-28th. The lead teacher day will begin at 8am for class preparation and ends the day at 4pm after a team meeting. Students arrive between 9:30-9:45 to class and will be under your care until 3pm, with an expectation of the lunch break from 12:15-1:00pm.
