Are you a recent college graduate looking to supplement your income with tutoring? Or impacted by recent events? Summit Tutoring Center in Pleasanton is currently hiring passionate and flexible instructors for the summer/school year!
Instructors will be helping in a group format (around 6-12 students) or private lessons. We are looking for experienced tutors who can teach elementary-school-level up to high school AP courses, including but not limited to: Common Core math, English, science and history. With a priority for Biology (AP) and English. Credentials are a plus!
-Our summer classes run M-F for one month in June or July
-We can work with almost any availability during the academic year: some instructors teach a few days each week; some teach 6 days a week!-
Key Responsibilities/Expectations:
-Tutoring in group and/or private format
-Commit to a schedule (at least one academic year or entire summer)
-Be enthusiastic and engage students to practice more! If you are not happy to be here, why should your student be?
-Teach according to California Common Core standards
-Be organized and knowledgeable about student progress
-Be prepared! Studying is required; having a PHD is not the same as knowing how to teach it!
-Can assign homework
Pay starts at $35/hr and will depend on prior experience.
