Position Description:

One (1) Permanent-Exempt, full time, (40 hours/week), full year (260 days/year)position. Exempt employees are considered "at will" and serve at the discretion ofthe appointing officer. Under general direction of supervision, the TIA - Evaluation Technician is responsible for performing complex and highly technical duties in the Office of Admissions & Records/Registration. The Evaluation Technician will coordinate communication with department contacts and regular front counter duties to assist the public and college; assignment to other Educational Centers as needed; address issues of discrepancies in admissions/registration; update information into Banner System; provide virtual counter coverage and phone coverage for A&R/Registration, respond to emails; resolve conflicts and discrepancies with student concerning student registration, student account and other A&R/Registration matters. Other responsibilities include working with student counseling, other departments and their program requirements and assisting students with online A&R/Registration processes in person, by email, virtual help counter or over the phone; attend and present at workshops, seminars and meetings as required. This position requires heavy interaction with the public. This position may be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Duties:

1. Assist with overseeing clerical personnel in the maintenance of records and documents for the tuition and fees department.2. Assist in the operations of the Registration Center and the student employees.3. Assist in providing enrollment verifications for students.4. Perform technical work, including registration set-up and coding, and auditing materials for input to the data processing system.5. Provide information to students, faculty and others regarding enrollment processes, grades, class schedules and department policies and procedures.6. Interpret and provide information on regulations & rules, policies and procedures pertaining to Admissions and Records.7. Assist in the coordination of student fee collection.8. Implement requirements for evaluation in the Refunds/AmeriCorps/Scholarships/the Chancellors Office Tax Offset Program (COTOP).9. Develop and maintain the training manual and important information publications.10. Maintain Registration and Tuition & Fees Department website by updating published information as required.11. Register students into classes by accurately inputting student and class information into the BANNER Student Database system.12. Oversee the data entry and accuracy of Priority Registration to approved student groups and the processing of student appeals for loss of priority.13. Assist in the creation of Registration/Tuition and Fees procedures with other lead managers that are consistent with College, District and state regulations.14. Participate in training activities to maintain current knowledge of Registration/Tuition and Fees regulations and procedures.15. Oversee reconstruction of student records and maintain the security and integrity of student records.16. Resolve complex issues regarding student registration, student accounts/billing, records maintenance and research.17. Evaluating registration documents to ensure accuracy, making all authorized changes to records using a computer terminal; processing and posting a variety of transactions, including registration, course add/drop, student hold removals, overrides, and correcting online any student record discrepancies.18. Verifying/reconciling and posting into a database information from various forms received from off-campus sites during regular registration period.19. Work closely with the Bursar Office and report any student account adjustments to the Bursar Office.20. Compiles reports of student data to coordinate with distributor for mass mailing efforts.21. Coordinates with Information Technology Services for the purpose of improving computing functions as it pertains to Registration Department.22. Troubleshoots problems and discrepancies as it pertains to Registration and Fees.23. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A BS/BA degree;ORAA/AS degree AND two years (4000 hours) of relevant paid experience in a Registration or Admissions and Records Office; ORFour (4) years (8000 hours) of relevant experience in a Registration or Admissions and Records Office or Student Services, preferable in a college setting.Note: Work experience with the District as a College Work Study student or Lab Aide (3591 Classification) will not be considered or applied as qualifying experience.

Benefits:

1. Additional Days Off with Pay. As stipulated in the appropriate bargaining agreements and board resolutions, Classified employees working full year (260 days/year) work schedules are granted, as paid days off, the days between Christmas and New Years Day, as well as an additional five (5) paid days off during spring break. Eligible school- term-only (STO) employees who are not scheduled to work the designated days between Christmas and New Years Day shall be granted three (3) paid days off to be scheduled by mutual agreements between the employee and supervisor. Eligible school- term-only (STO) employees who are not scheduled to work the days designated as Spring Break will not be paid for these days off.

2. New employees hired on or after October 1, 2013 will contribute 2% of salary to the San Francisco Retiree Health Care Trust Fund (RHCTF).
