THE POSITION
We are seeking a technically strong, detail-obsessed Revit Draftsperson with an interest in:
Advancing permits through SF DBI and surrounding jurisdictions
Producing compelling interior & exterior renderings (Lumion)
Working closely with senior team members to refine drawing sets, details, and graphics
If you enjoy taking Revit models to an extreme level of precision and thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, you will excel here. Our experienced team is able to train motivated individuals in permitting processes and rendering workflows as needed.
We are looking for a technically savvy Revit draftsperson who also has an interest in helping the firm pursue its permits at SF DBI and other surrounding jurisdictions, as well as preparing developing interior and exterior renderings using Lumion. Our firm experienced members can instruct a motivated individual in how to perform those activities. We are mainly looking for someone who enjoys taking Revit plans to an extreme level of detail and graphical standards, and also going to the building departments to advance permits through the various stations.
The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, who enjoys drafting, rendering realistic spaces and design, as much as navigating the planning and DBI processes in order to advance our clients' interest effectively. Candidates must have excellent design, communication, interpersonal and graphic skills. Our team consists of talented, resourceful, positive, tenacious and self-guided individuals, and we look for much of the same in this position.
The work would include collaborating closely with the firm principal, architects and interior designers on graphical and drafting standards and design developments. It would also include interfacing with the design team who tend to take the models to a micro level of details mostly on the inside. All of our work is in Revit. The full-service approach and the highly integrated departments tend to set us apart from other firms out there. We also collaborate closely with the builders and see the projects through all the way to the end.
The hours for this full-time position are somewhat flexible as long as they are consistent. We are mainly looking for someone with the same inherent client focus approach as we do, someone who demonstrates a strong interest in design as well as project management, and someone who possesses solid communication and computer skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce, refine, and coordinate Revit drawings to high graphic standards
Prepare Lumion renderings for presentations and design development
Assist with permit submissions, resubmittals, and in-person DBI routing
Work closely with the principal, architects, interior designers, and builders
Support design development across architecture, interiors, and landscape scopes
Maintain consistency in drafting standards and project documentation
Collaborate with the team to resolve design and construction challenges
This is a full-time, in-office role based in our SOMA studio. Hours are flexible within reason, provided they are consistent and support team coordination.

Our bright, well-equipped studio on Folsom Street features height-adjustable desks, high-performance computers, a kitchen and lounge, and a roof deck. We are close to major transit and freeways.
Seventy-five percent of our work is in San Francisco, with the remainder in nearby jurisdictions. This role includes local site visits and in-person collaboration. To foster strong synergy between the team, remote work is not available except in rare circumstances.
REQUIREMENTS
Advanced proficiency in Revit
Strong familiarity with Lumion and the Google Workspace ecosystem
Solid graphic-tool proficiency and strong typing skills
Ability to understand construction costs and design within budgets
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset
Ability to balance creativity with feasibility
Interest in navigating entitlement and permit processes
Enjoyment of in-person collaboration and cloud-based workflows
We are looking for someone who is both meticulous and adaptable, capable of producing detailed documentation as well as helping move permits efficiently through local agencies.
