The Electrical Designer will work under the supervision of Engineering Manager. The position will be responsible to assist with the preparation of electrical systems construction design documents from start to completion.
Responsibilities:
Plan and design electrical power systems for educational facilities, commercial buildings and institutional projects.
Design and specify power & lighting systems including system layouts, light fixture selection, Title 24 compliance calculations and voltage drop, load and demand calculations.
Engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection for low and medium voltage.
Design Fire Alarm system including system layouts, equipment selection, and calculations.
Provide electrical design and performance specifications for lighting, lighting controls, power, fire alarm and low voltage system.
Coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, process and other trades
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical systems design
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Word & Excel
Experience with Revit a plus
Knowledge of the NEC, building and fire codes
Experience with power and lighting design
Experience with Fire Alarm design
Knowledge of Data/Tel and AV systems.
EIT certification a plus
LEED accreditation a plus
Knowledge of Green Building Code a plus
