San Francisco East Bay Structural steel and Misc. Steel Company seeking an Project Manager/Project Engineer/Estimator

Full-Time Position,

$80K to 150K annually DOE, 100% Employer Paid Kaiser for Employee, Vacation Pay, Holiday Pay, sick leave.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Estimator/Project Manager

Strong structural Steel and Misc. Steel construction knowledge

Experience with self-performing labor and materials take off

Experience in School and commercial construction projects

Experience with Bluebeam/CAD/Tekla/Microsoft and/or QuickBooks

Ability to Read Construction Plans

Ability to Research Products and Information

Bilingual: English, Cantonese or Mandarin

Job Responsibilities

Prepare estimates

Generate proposals for work

Review all bid documents, drawings and specifications to become familiar with scope of work prior to starting scope letter and estimate.

Develop scope letter and send to general contractors prior to bid day.

Take off all material, labor and equipment using Fabtrol, Excel and company estimating standards.

Communicate and verify scope with general contractors/customers as necessary prior to bid.

Manage time in order to complete bid in plenty of time for through review.

Review bid with the company CEO prior to bid release.

Send out bid price to general contractors/customers prior to closing bid time.

Follow up with all general contractors/customers post bid.

Foster relationships with key vendors, general contractors, subcontractors, etc.

Write up project turnover data sheet and review successful bids with assigned project managers.

Review and price out all change order requests or revisions that exceed a realistic value to workload ratio.

Prepare shop drawing, erection plan with detailer

Understanding design drawings and construction specifications

Experience with steel fabrication materials and methods

Experience with structural steel miscellaneous metals.

Prepare and update project schedule/schedule of values/payment applications

Manage change order process

Oversee project documentation, including shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and logs

Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control on the project

Oversee site safety and ensure all workers have a safe working environment

Possess thorough knowledge of plans and specifications

Possess leadership abilities, provide accurate direction for Superintendent and project team

Be effective at scheduling and multitasking

Lead team and project meetings

Organization, written & oral communication and time-management skills are a must.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively with general contractors and customers; strong math /analytical abilities.

Ability to multi-task and properly prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines
