Cafe du Nord is looking for a Bar Manager to join our close knit team. This legendary music venue and event space is located on Market St. in San Francisco, CA. Over the years, Cafe du Nord has hosted bands like Andrew WK, Beach House, Blink 182, Bon Iver, Spoon, St. Vincent, The Black Crowes, Train. The position offers flexible scheduling and a window into the SF nightlife. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and engaged. This is a public facing role that will interact with a wide variety of people.
Bar Program
Develop bar program for publicly ticketed events and private events
Develop new concepts for bev program monetization
Organization
Training
System development
Beverage Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Inventory to be submitted no later than the 1st of the month.
Ensure the availability of necessary supplies such as cups, mixers, garnishes, etc.
Monitor and control costs, including waste and over-pouring.
Staff Supervision and Training:
Train and supervise bartending staff.
Provide ongoing training to keep the team updated on new recipes, techniques, and company policies.
Schedule shifts and manage staff rotations
Customer Service:
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service.
Bar Maintenance:
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times.
Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
Ensure dry storage area is kept stocked and organized
Ensure liquor cabinets are organized and back bars in Cafe du Nord and Swedish American Hall are stocked regularly.
Ensure bar fridges are stocked to standard nightly.
Team Building:
Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
Encourage teamwork and effective communication among staff members.
Collaboration with show security staff and show staff to address operational issues day of show.
Qualifications
Strong leadership abilities and communication skills
Prior experience in a management
Weekend availability with the expectation of working most or all private events
