Seeking experienced baristas with extensive coffee knowledge such as different brew methods, milk conditioning and aeration, experience working with espresso machines, dialing in espresso, and able to make multiple drinks at a time while providing consistent quality. Customer Service Requirements
Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products.
Works well in a fast paced environment and serves customers with a sense of urgency, multi-task and ability to perform various physical tasks during the work shift.
Carry a friendly, energetic, personable demeanor and have a passion for great customer service, with a customer-first mentality.
Interact with new and returning customers to create a warm, friendly environment.
Share knowledge about our coffee and menu with customers as needed and make suggestions.
Package pastries for in house and to go orders.
Take orders while paying attention to details
(i.e. preferences of roast, dairy and syrup)
Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
Barista Requirements
Brew drip coffee as needed.
Properly condition and steam/aerate milks.
Dialing in espresso.
Precisely follow food and beverage recipes and presentation standards.
Tasting and smelling coffee and food is a daily requirement, for quality assurance.
Cleaning Requirements
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, restock supplies as needed and adhere to all health and safety standards throughout your shifts.
Maintain an empty dirty dish bin, wash and put away dishes in the kitchen
Clean and maintain coffee equipment and espresso machine.
Maintain a clean dining area, sanitizing tables and chairs, and sweeping crumbs off of the floor.
Maintain stock of syrups, bar fridge, pastries, bagged coffee and merchandise.
Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates.
Complete tasks on the checklist (for the appropriate shift) with initials by completed tasks, working ahead to ensure completion before the shift is over. Stay until it is completed.
Complete daily tasks as possible (first shift), and complete before end of day (second shift)
Notice if equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
Comply with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
At least 6 months of barista experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback on the quality of services.
Must be able to move and lift at least 50lbs. For example, you’ll be handling bags of coffee beans, coffee kegs, crates of milk, tub of dishes and trash bins.
Enjoy working in a team-environment and building great relationships with their coworkers.
Have a focus on quality and take pride in your work.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
Act as an ambassador for Brewja Coffee.
Food Handlers Card is required. Must have (or obtain) a California Food Handlers License (i.e., ServSafe) prior to employment.
Eligible to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older
Part-time + Full-time shifts available. Hours may increase and decrease due to the needs of the business.
Pay based on level of experience: $16-$20 per hour plus tips.
