Moonglow is a soon-to-be-open "secret bar" within Gold Palm in Uptown Oakland. Located in the historic Oakland Floral Depot building, just steps from the Fox Theater, Gold Palm is an upbeat neighborhood bar and restaurant serving creative drinks and Pakistani small plates in a fun, tropical atmosphere. Moonglow, only accessible through an unmarked door at the back of Gold Palm, will serve martinis and high-end cocktails in a sleek, dimly lit Art Deco-inspired space.
We are currently seeking Bartenders with a passion for mixology and hospitality. Preferably in a full-time capacity, but will consider part-time employment for the right candidates. Applicants must be able to work both Friday and Saturday night (in addition to other nights). Deep knowledge of craft cocktails, classic cocktails and spirits is a must. Prior experience in high-end bars/restaurants strongly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interacting with customers with kindness, knowledge and respect
Making cocktails (we expect a mastery of classic and contemporary recipes and techniques)
Keeping back bar and wells clean, stocked and organized during shifts
Taking orders and closing tabs on a hospitality-focused POS system
Rotating into other service positions to cover breaks and absences (i.e., be a team player with no attitude), including serving drinks, bussing tables, hosting duties, etc.
Washing glassware, bar tools, dishware and re-stocking as needed
Closing tasks (shutting down and cleaning wells, cleaning bar, pour rails, back bar, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience as a Bartender in a high-end bar or restaurant.
Extensive knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes and techiniques
Experience with crafting thoughtful, creative non-alcoholic beverages.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
Proactive problem solver

Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and CA health and safety regulations
