JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Cashier - Barista
REPORTS TO: General Manager
Position Summary
A Cashier/Barista is responsible for efficient, fast paced work in a high volume environment.
This position requires heavy guest contact and excellent guest service skills. A positive
attitude is required at all times in order to ensure the return of our customers.
Prepares a variety of coffee beverages and responsible for the company standard aesthetics of the
café at all times
Must be willing to assist in all areas of the café. Food preparation, packing orders, preparing
beverages, guest service, cleaning, and stocking
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
▪ Assists Guests in a friendly manner for purchases, exchanges, gift cards, special orders and
general inquiries. Assures the completion of all TOAST transactions and the proper control
of all cash according to Company policies and procedures.
▪ Prepare hot and cold beverages.
▪ Execution of all coffee procedures according to current coffee distributor
▪ Knowledge of all Rustic Bakery Menu items and Recipes
▪ Open and/or close the Cafe as scheduled.
▪ Maintains cleanliness in every area of the Cafe at all times.
▪ Provide Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of employment
Supervisory Responsibilities
▪ This job has no supervisory responsibilities, must be able to work as a supportive member of
the Rustic Bakery Team
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
▪ Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and TOAST register
system.
▪ EXCELLENT customer service skills
▪ Ability to learn and use technical equipment (e.g. espresso machine).
▪ Ability to accurately exchange currency with the guests.
▪ Ability to reconcile all cash and currency.
▪ Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.
▪ Experience in food, beverage, retail and customer service.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The employee is required to stand and on feet for up to 8 hours a day. The employee must multi
task in a fast paced environment and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
