-Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 1030am-7pm
-MUST have transportation to Petaluma (900 Hopper Street)
The Kitchen Utility Worker reports to the Executive Chef and collaborates with kitchen team members and volunteers. The Utility Worker is responsible for cleanliness and dishes in our large commercial kitchen, where COTS serves 3 meals per day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sets up and fills 3-compartment sink
Washes Dishes/Pots as they come
Washes food trays/Cups/Silverware and returns to proper location
Empties trash cans, screens, etc.
Cleans, stove and walls twice per month
Maintains clean dish washing area
Cleans Dishwasher out every Night
Mops and sweeps dining area daily and performs deep cleaning of area at least twice per month (tables and chairs moved)
Sweep, Mop and clean Restroom
Checks the Daily Deep Clean List and initials when complete
Assists Executive Chef and other kitchen staff with requested tasks
Performs general task as assigned by Executive Chef
Clean outside walk in and outside freezer
Help put away inventory/Food FIFO
Assists Executive Chef and other kitchen staff with requested tasks
Adheres to HIPAA security requirement standards at all times
Performs general task as assigned by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
At least one-year kitchen utility work experience.
Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds
Tolerate hot/cold temperatures.
Ability to take instruction from Kitchen colleagues and Chef.
Ability to understand, speak, read and write basic English.
Ability to learn about proper sanitization and obtain Food-handlers permit within 60 days.
No open toe shoes, non-slip shoes required
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Food-handler’s permit required.
LANGUAGE, MATH & REASONING SKILLS
Ability to understand, speak, read and write instructions in English. Ability to respond effectively to time-sensitive projects.

This position’s primary location is 900 Hopper Street, Petaluma. Telecommuting is not optional in this role.
