MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SHIFTS starting at 4:00 am 12:30 pm AND 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

Seeking EXPERIENCED Baristas to work at illy Caffè located @ SFO – San Francisco Int’l Airport, Terminal 1.

MUST be able to hit the ground running on the espresso machine.

Must be a QUICK and proactive learner.

Must be open to receiving feedback, if needed.

Must be willing to perform cashier and other FOH duties as assigned.

There is a 90 - day probationary period for all positions.

OUR BARISTAS prepare authentic Italian coffee, perfect latte art, practice alternative brewing methods, and offer other premium beverages, while providing excellent customer service. Baristas are representative of our brand, our rich heritage in coffee culture, excellence, ethics and our direct trade practices in sourcing coffee in the growing regions.

You will:

-Be adept at multi-tasking with knowledge in espresso and coffee recipe preparation.

-Responsible for preparing and serving customers with friendly, individualized attention to detail and customization.

-Responsible for making a difference to our customers' experience by educating them about our premium coffees and teas.

-Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Soaring Food Group and illy.

-Must be coachable and a team player.

-Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.

Other Responsibilities:

-Operate a POS register (Toast) and handles cash and credit card transactions

-Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures: Count, organize, and balance the cash drawer; fill out the cashier slip; and make deposits.

-Serve coffee, tea, and baked goods.

-Responsible for learning recipes and making individual orders.

-Responsible for the thorough completion of any and all Daily Cleaning Tasks assigned.

-Restocking of dairy and food products for FOH under counter refrigerators, grab-n-go case; and BOH refrigerators.

-Keep the condiment table fully stocked and clean, at all times.

-Keep the floors and counter areas and entire FOH area clean and free of crumbs and debris.

-Removing all trash in FOH, as needed.

-Building customer relationships and fostering a positive and friendly store environment

Providing technical guidance to new team members and assisting in the training program.

Fulfilling duties assigned by the Store Manager and/or the Shift Supervisor, in a professional manner.

Supporting the Guiding Principles and following store's Operating Procedures and company values.

Report to work in a clean and complete uniform.

Report to work when scheduled and on time.

Due to the seasonal nature of the restaurant industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to accommodate the business needs of the restaurant.

Physical Requirements:

This role is a physical one and the physical demands outlined below are representative of those that must be met for a team member to be successful in the role. You have:

● The ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods of time (at least 8 hours per day and 5 days per week)

● The use of hands to handle or feel and the ability to reach with hands and arm

● The ability to squat, bend, twist and reach for items below waist level or above shoulders

● The ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds

● The ability to listen and speak English

● The ability to climb ladders, stairs, ramps and uneven floor and/or surfaces as needed

Requirements:

Legally eligible to work in the US

Food Handler Card

Explaining and upselling menu items

Food Service experience

Customer service

Clean appearance

Knowledge of coffee drinks

Can stand for several hours a day

1-year experience

A high school diploma
