We are seeking a Front of the House and Light Prep person to join our team at a private school location!
The hours are M-F, primarily 6:00am-2:00pm on days that lunch is served, with time off over major holidays, summers and private school breaks.
Role Summary
Setting up for breakfast and lunch service. supporting the organization and maintenance of front of the house. Need to be a quick learner with attention to details. Need to be able to manage lunch time rush.
Prep duties include supporting with meal preparation such as chopping, making sandwiches and other tasks assigned.
This position begins immediately and ends in mid June, possibility of re-hire at the end of August for the new school year. Due to the many holiday/vacation periods, including summer, this position is best suited to persons with other sources of interest/ income or those with children in school. Extra catering work is periodically available in addition to regular hours.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain an organized Front of the House. Amazing customer service
- Support ordering supplies as needed.
- Support the kitchen as needed. This includes supporting closing needs such as cleaning mats and floors, as well as miscellaneous kitchen prep needs like chopping vegetables, organizing walk-in, dry storage.
- Follow proper closing protocol. This includes emptying trash and recycling bins, cleaning, floors, and organizing space for flow and efficiency.
- Support meal prepping duties as needed.
Desired Education, Experience, and Skills
- Excellent Customer Service
- Basic food preparation skills
- Knowledge of correct cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to safely use industrial kitchen equipment.
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen or equivalent, preferred.
- Highly self-motivated and organized; capacity to multi-task, set priorities, and respond quickly to changing needs.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work safely with hot liquids.

Job Tasks:
- Assisting with meal preparation for lunch (40%)
- assist in serving line and inventory organization (60%)
Compensation for this position is DOE $23/hour (depending on experience). This position is paid hourly. Paid lunch time and meal.
