Job Overview
We are seeking a part-time Host with a genuine passion for hospitality to be the first point of contact for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a servant's heart, a warm and welcoming demeanor, and the ability to set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. This role is crucial in creating a positive first impression and ensuring a smooth flow of service throughout the evening.
Responsibilities
Greet all guests with genuine warmth and enthusiasm
Manage the reservation system and seating chart efficiently
Coordinate large party and buy-out reservations and details
Escort guests to their tables, ensuring they are comfortably seated
Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff about seating and timing
Manage wait lists during busy periods, providing accurate wait times and maintaining a positive atmosphere
Answer phone calls professionally, handle inquiries, and take reservations
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the entrance area
Assist in maintaining the overall ambiance of the restaurant
Handle guest concerns and special requests with grace and efficiency
Collaborate with the serving team to ensure a seamless dining experience for all guests
Qualifications
Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Basic computer skills and ability to learn reservation systems quickly
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-end or fine dining establishments
Knowledge of Sonoma Valley wine culture and local cuisine
Schedule and Compensation
Part-time position, averaging 30 hours per week
Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday
Pay rate: $19 per hour plus tips
