El Dorado Kitchen is an award winning restaurant on historic Sonoma Square featuring farm-driven cuisine with the essence of sophistication and seasonality. Executive Chef Armando Navarro’s award-winning and locally-loved menu is crafted from Sonoma ingredients that change with the season. The robust wine list is a virtual tour through California wine country and includes more than 200 selections. Signature cocktails are made with passion and a sense of humor, using only the best spirits and fresh juices. Our bar offers one of the best artisan craft beer selections in all of Sonoma.

We are currently hiring a full-time Reservationist! Weekend and holiday availablity is required.

El Dorado Kitchen is part of Mosaic Hotel Group’s collection of hotels and restaurants. We offer 401k and company discounts at our proprietary restaurants and hotels. The Reservationist will courteously answer the phone calling our guests per name whenever possible. Transfer calls appropriately when needed. Take to go food order for the Restaurant over the phone and give them to the bartender to process. Take reservations and maintain reservation book. Confirm existing reservation 48 hours out. Promptly answer the phone at all time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Preparation

· Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

· Provide gracious and efficient telephone service as it relates to general telephone services. Calls should be answered promptly and knowledgeably, always ensuring complete and accurate information.

· Review the reservation book, pre-assign designated tables and follow up on all special requests. Communicate with management and hostess/host team.

· Know the daily menus and daily specials.

· Attend all Restaurant staff meetings as scheduled.

Customer Service

· Smile (even on the phone, you can hear a smile)

· Promote positive guest relations at all times.

· Take, record and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellations as specified in departmental standards using the reservation system.

· Accommodate all requests for information courteously.

· Call guests for next day to confirm reservations.

· Understand and adhere to event calls practices and procedures.

· Communicate issues and feedback to manager on duty.

· Handle guest complaints by following company procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction and inform manager.

· Answer phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.

· Take, record and relay messages in accordance with standards.

· Attend menu and wine tastings as scheduled.

· Maintain a positive, friendly, welcoming and hospitable attitude at all times.

· Adhere to break compliance policy.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

· Be computer proficient, knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.

· Focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.

· Promote positive relations with all individuals who approach the restaurant in person and by telephone.

· Exercise good judgment with difficult guests.

· Think clearly and quickly, maintain concentration and make concise decisions in pressure situations.

· Prioritize, organize and follow up.

· Focus attention on details.

· Suggestively sell selected food and beverage items.

· Provide clear, pleasant telephone communication with proper grammar.

· Provide legible communication.

· Do basic arithmetic.

· Give clear, correct and concise directions to guests over the phone.

· Be a team player – need to be willing to lend a helping hand to any teammate at any time.

· Be able to fill in for the host if needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school graduate.

· Ability to communicate with proper grammar in English.

· Six months’ experience in similar position dealing with the general public.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Restaurant service experience in a similar market.

· Prior guest relations training

· Knowledge of reservation system, preferably Open Table.
