With a new chapter on the horizon, including expansion plans for Q1 2025 underway, we’re seeking a General Manager that is passionate about hospitality and enthusiastic about supporting Horsefeather’s continued growth. This role is essential in leading our team, maintaining high standards of service, and ensuring daily operations run seamlessly.

About the position:

Our General Manager is responsible for handling the day-to-day restaurant operations, attending to guest needs, leading the management of FOH staff and assistant FOH managers, creating a healthy work environment for our team and consistently driving excellent, consistent service for our guests. The General Manager is also responsible for working closely with the Chef de Cuisine. To be successful in this position, it is imperative that you are a team player who can lead by example and be willing to assist in all positions to get the job done.

Responsibilities are fluid and include but are not limited to:

- General restaurant maintenance and upkeep

- Organization and SOP maintenance & development

- Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, professional, gracious service at all times; resolve guest issues when necessary

- Programming of POS (Toast), reservation/table management (OpenTable)

- Scheduling (WheniWork), training, hiring/terminating, developing staff, and disciplining with documentation when necessary

- Floor management; Ensure a high quality of customer service

- Support existing policies and protocols of the restaurants operations

- Seasonal programing & staff engagement

- Strategizing growth potential

- Inventory and ordering

- Weekly financials; labor and cost management

- Work closely with Chef de Cuisine to ensure smooth BOH operations and relations

- Perform all aspects of the position with efficiency, respect, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion, courtesy and initiative

- Regular communication with ownership including shift logs

Applicants must be adept at hospitality and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Professionalism is key to this position and must be maintained under any circumstances. A strong applicant is someone who strives to provide the highest level of customer service while remaining warm and calm under pressure. We are looking for individuals who are interested in investing the time to grow with our business as we scale the Horsefeather brand. It is absolutely vital that you are a self-starter who can not only initiate operational improvements and programs but also see them through to completion with minimal supervision from ownership.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of general management experience in high volume, fast-paced restaurants

- Experience in working all facets of FOH

- At least 4 years of FOH service experience, ideally in high volume, fast-paced restaurant environments

- Food handler certification, RBS, and supervisor harassment prevention training

- Excellent work ethic with a drive to lead by example

- Forward thinking attitude with the ability to assist and/or develop growth points for the restaurant

- An aptitude and interest in leadership, mentoring, and the inspiring positivity in all employees

- Be a highly-organized, self starting individual

- Keen understanding of the financial aspects of business operations
