Mill Valley Pasta Co. is hiring a Packaging Technician at its San Rafael production facility. This position alone is a part time position, suitable for 3 days a week, but there is an opportunity for the right candidate to work full-time in a hybrid position as both the Packaging Technician and Ecomm Fulfillment Associate (5 day work week). This position is not eligible for work-from-home, as the employee must be present in our food production facility to perform the work.
Part-Time: (Packaging Work Only)
- 3-Day Work Week (Wed-Fri), 10 am to 6 pm (hours generally not flexible)
- Packaging Provisions & Pastas (fresh and dried)
- Labeling of Provisions & Pastas
- Primarily works from a directed prep list / priority list set by management
- California Food Handler’s Certificate or better required (if the hired candidate does not have one, they must obtain in first 30 days of employment, which the company will pay for the training material and first test)
- Use of mechanical as well as pneumatic food packaging machinery
- Standing up to 8 hours a day
- Some packaging equipment requires sitting on a low stool, up to 6 hours a day
Full Time / Hybrid Position:
- 5 Day Work Week (Mon to Fri after training - Ties-Saturday during training period of up to 3 weeks)
- Ecomm Fulfillment happening up to 4 times a week to start the day from online orders. During the holidays, Ecomm fulfillment will likely become the primary focus of the job while overseeing temporary seasonal help assisting with ecomm fulfillment.
- Packing pastas and provisions for shipping throughout the United States
The starting rate of pay for the position is $22/hour. Benefits include weekly allowance of both pasta and sauce, staff discount on other retail products, Bridge Toll stipend (for those driving across bridges to come to work), public transportation or non-vehicular transportation stipend for those utilizing public transport or other means of transportation arriving to work, and paid sick leave. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses.
