Kitchen Coordinator/Chef - On-Site - Part Time
Position Summary:
The Kitchen Coordinator/Chef prepares elevated food for a wide variety of events in the facility's kosher kitchens. While kosher cooking experience is preferred, it is not necessary and training will be provided.
The Kitchen Coordinator/Chef position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to reviewing and planning menus, ordering and shopping for food and supplies, preparing and serving meals, event set up and cleanup, kitchen cleanup, dishwashing and laundry. Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Excitement about cooking
Experience as a cook, chef and / or caterer
Good communication skills
Ability to follow directions
Ability to cook for large groups
Knowledge of and compliance with food safety standards
Certification from an approved food safety organization or ability to complete such certification
Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them
Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting various surfaces
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Good organizational skills
Excellent time-management skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Must pass a background check required for employees of licensed preschool facilities
Compensation: $27 to $29 per hour depending upon experience
Hours: Schedule will include some weekdays, Saturdays and periodically evenings and Sundays.
