Lunch Box is hiring for a part time cashier/FOH position. We're a small crew who deeply values a positive and supportive work environment and are looking for like minded individuals to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and friendly cashier to join our team. This role is essential to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in our dining area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting customers, processing transactions, managing the dining room environment, and addressing customer concerns with professionalism and care.
Hours: 15-20 hours a week, hours may vary depending on catering/pop-up schedule
Key Responsibilities:
Dining Room Setup & Maintenance:
-Open the dining room, ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and ready for service.
-Keep beverage stations fully stocked throughout service hours.
-Buss tables and assist with maintaining a clean dining area.
Customer Service:
-Greet customers with a welcoming attitude and assist with placing their orders.
-Explain menu items to customers, providing details about ingredients, preparation methods, and recommendations.
-Answer any questions customers may have regarding food options, allergies, or dietary restrictions.
-Regularly check in on customers to ensure satisfaction and promptly address any issues.
-Assist in running food from the kitchen to tables in a timely and efficient manner.
-Ensure that orders are accurate and complete before serving
Cash Handling & Order Processing:
-Accurately process customer transactions using the POS system.
-Handle cash, credit card transactions, and end-of-shift cash reconciliation.
Multitasking & Efficiency:
-Manage multiple tasks at once, from taking orders to running food and bussing tables.
-Prioritize tasks to ensure the dining room runs smoothly, even during busy times.
Job Requirements:
-must be at least 18 years old
-must have a California Food Handler's Card
-minimum of 2 years of experience in food service or customer service is preferred
-excellent multi-tasking and communication skills
-open availability including evenings and weekends
-ability to be on your feet for 6+ hours and lift 25+ lbs
Compensation is $22-$27 per hour depending on experience and is a combination of base wage plus tips as part of our shared tipping pool.
