Doorman/Security Guard – Hella Bees (Downtown Oakland, CA)
Pay: $22 - $27 per hour | Armed: $25 - $35 per hour
Hours: 15-25 hours per week | Nights & Weekends Required
Hella Bees, Oakland’s premier nightlife destination, is looking for professional and reliable security personnel to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a strong security presence at the entrance and within the venue.
Check IDs and enforce age restrictions.
Manage crowd control and assist with conflict resolution.
Monitor and escort individuals as needed to maintain a safe atmosphere.
Enforce venue policies, including dress code and guest conduct.
Work closely with bartenders, managers, and fellow security staff to ensure a smooth operation.
Respond swiftly to emergencies and follow proper de-escalation protocols.
Conduct routine perimeter checks and monitor for potential safety risks.
Qualifications:
✅ Valid CA Guard Card (No exceptions)
✅ Must be 21+ years old
✅ Strong situational awareness & conflict resolution skills
✅ Must be reliable, professional, and customer-service oriented
✅ Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment
✅ Previous nightclub, bar, or high-volume security experience preferred
✅ Armed guards must have a valid firearm permit & training certification

Hella Bees, one of Oakland’s hottest nightlife destinations, seeks hardworking and dependable barbacks to support our bartending team and keep the bar running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for those looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist bartenders by restocking liquor, beer, ice, and garnishes.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware and workstations.
Collect and wash glassware and bar equipment throughout shifts.
Ensure quick replenishment of supplies to maintain efficiency.
Empty trash and recycling bins regularly.
Assist in minor bar maintenance and cleanliness duties.
Support in setting up and breaking down the bar before and after service.
Occasionally interact with guests and assist with basic drink requests if needed.
Qualifications:
✅ Must be 21+ years old
✅ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
✅ Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills
✅ Fast learner with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
✅ Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus
✅ Previous bar/restaurant experience preferred but not required
