About the job:
The Bartender position is integral to our daily operations at Outerlands. Upholding our standards of exceptional guest service, this role produces all beverages for the restaurant while also coordinating the dining experience for bar customers with knowledge, poise, and efficiency.
Essential functions include:
-Thorough understanding of classic and craft cocktails and in depth beer and wine knowledge
-Greet guests dining in the bar area, guide guests through the menu, take orders, bus and reset bar seats, run drinks, drop checks, process payments and gift cards
-Maintain a clean, presentable, well stocked bar at all times
-Facilitate an excellent dining experience that exceeds expectations by providing exceptional service and anticipating guest needs
-In-depth ongoing understanding of beverage and menu items, ingredients and purveyors
-Diligent understanding of and adherence to Outerlands Steps of Service
-Understand and follow the food allergy protocol for guests with any sensitivities
-Use tact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guest needs with patience, courtesy, and a sense of urgency
-Proficient with technology and able to use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including Toast POS, Slack, 7Shifts etc.
-Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
-Assist with other ad hoc duties as directed
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
-Minimum of 2 years bartending experience creating craft cocktails
-Effective communication skills both written and verbal
-Available to work Thursday and Sunday evenings (opportunities to pick up extra shifts available based on business needs and team member requests off)
-Ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
-Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
-Able to move up to 10 pounds frequently, move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
-Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs and uneven or slick surfaces
-Valid California food handler's card
