Position Summary
We seek a Housekeeper who enjoys creating inviting, beautiful spaces. This role goes beyond cleaning; it’s about nurturing the calm, caring atmosphere that defines Madeira House. You’ll work both independently and as part of a small, committed team to ensure each guest feels at home and inspired by their environment. Our housekeepers are not only cleaners, but they are also caretakers of the guest experience and stewards of a restored coastal property.
Your work will directly shape how guests experience Madeira House: from the feel of freshly pressed linens and the scent of ocean air through open windows, to the calm, minimalist order of each space.
Responsibilities
Clean and refresh guest rooms and common spaces with a high level of attention to detail.
Prepare rooms to Madeira House standards. Blending cleanliness, presentation, and natural simplicity.
Maintain linens, supplies, and equipment in an organized, sustainable manner.
Report any maintenance or inventory needs promptly.
Collaborate with the property manager and guest services to support daily operations.
Uphold our values of environmental care (mindful use of water, energy, and cleaning products).
Qualifications
Prior housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
Genuine care for creating inviting, restorative environments.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Weekend and holiday availability.
Must be comfortable with stairs and physical work in a coastal environment.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
