We're a restaurant and cocktail bar in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood seeking a Part Time line cook. We have some flexibility with the days available, plus there are opportunities to pick up additional days via coverage.
Shifts are fast-paced and busy. Our Chef, Justin Montoya, runs a clean and well-organized kitchen. Our management team are calm and caring people.
We serve seasonal California fare in a friendly, warm setting. We've won "Best Cocktails in the East Bay" and are home to the last two winners of "Best Bartender in the East Bay" according to the East Bay Express.
Pay is $20/hour plus a tip pool paid out in cash equalling $4-5/hour (total of $24-25/hour).
Health care is available (Kaiser) with employer paying a portion of it.
Optional 401k provided.
We provide meal and drink for each shift worked.
North Light is located on Telegraph Avenue (a major bus route) and is a 10 minute walk from MacArthur BART stop. There is a lot of parking in the neighborhood surrounding us and a large parking lot directly next door.

Creative input is welcome for both food and cocktails. We have a small, tight-knit staff that create an ambitious food and beverage program both our FOH and BOH deserve credit for.
