The Center SF is seeking an organized and detail-oriented, people-oriented person to join the team, as a Weekend Lead for The Center SF to support the tea house and in-person events.
The Center SF is a teahouse, yoga studio, event venue and community space in San Francisco. In addition to being a community based business, we are a supportive community for personal, spiritual and social transformation through events, community building, service and tea.
As Weekend Lead you will be boots on the ground working directly with and to support facilitators and guests that make this community what it is. While at The Center you may set up for an event, troubleshoot sound, check members in for yoga, or restock our chocolate and tea.
Our goal is to provide a space for facilitators to share their gifts and to create an environment where the community can be vulnerable and connection to take place. This is an opportunity to learn about conscious community spaces and to directly interact with our community.
Areas of Responsibility
Check people in for yoga and support our yoga teachers for their in-person classes
Maintain backend yoga system and schedule
Troubleshoot Square and Mindbody issues and become a power user of those systems.
Set up and manage day of event operations addressing potential problems that may arise. This includes sound, seating, check-in, and volunteer support for each event.
Maintain a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events
Ensure the vibe and cleanliness of the space maintains our community promise. With the help of others - keep an eye on decor and furniture - Fix any broken items or furniture - Maintain calm earthy ambiance - Take care of plants. Note: there is a weekly professional cleaning service
Who You Are:
High energy, fun and creative. Self-starter, inspired by ideas but team oriented
Experience with live-events or other on-site activities.
Strong organizational skills, goal and deadline oriented. Able to prioritize and execute on multiple projects and tasks at once
Strong communications skills, able to work well with a diverse community of volunteers and facilitators. Able to articulate ideas easily, express self fluidly and capture others’ ideas easily.
An understanding of sound, multimedia and AV equipment and other event tech used for events
Passionate about The Center SF, community building, self awareness, growth and the transformative events we host
Able to give and receive direct feedback with compassion and empathy
This role is located in San Francisco and requires in-person availability. This role is Sa & Su 4pm-10pm. The pay is $30/hour. This role would report directly to the General Manager.
