COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Vita Kitchen is a health-focused meal delivery and catering small business based in downtown Oakland, serving the entire Bay Area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a new team member to join our catering team and help execute an onsite private corporate catering lunch contract.

This is a very unique position and requires both (light) cooking and front-of-house skills. We're looking for a versatile individual who can excel in both areas!

Daily Duties:

-Assist Vita's catering chef with light prep tasks in the morning as needed before departure (examples: cutting fruit, slicing chicken, packaging food into containers)

-Pack all food components reviewing the day's lunch specifics with the Chef

-Load the company car with all necessary items

-Drive from our Oakland kitchen to the corporate office in San Francisco, unload and transport food to the office

-Service:

Reheat, assemble, and plate the day's lunch (typically 4–8 separate dishes)

Create and place dish description cards on the buffet

Monitor and replenish the buffet as needed

-After service:

Package leftover food

Wash all cooking and serving dishes, and clean onsite kitchen thoroughly

Ensure the client's kitchen is left cleaner than you found it

-Pack up and return to Vita Kitchen

-Upon return to Vita Kitchen, unload the car and help store dishes and equipment

Expectations for the role:

-Represent Vita Kitchen professionally in the corporate office setting.

-Adhere strictly to health and food safety protocols.

-Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, especially when presenting the buffet.

-Show ability to season dishes to taste and make appropriate culinary decisions on-site.

-High Reliability —this is a key role that requires very consistent punctuality and readiness to work.

-Be able to lift 30-50 lbs.

-Possess a valid driver's license.

-Have at least 3+ years of experience in catering and/or private chef work.

SCHEDULE

Part-Time, x3 days a week

Tuesday - Thursday (9:30am-3:30pm), 18-20hrs per week

COMPENSATION

$32/hour pay rate
