Rusty Ladle is a cozy soup-and-sandwich spot in the Outer Sunset, known for thoughtfully prepared seasonal soups (like Bodega Bay–style clam chowder, vegan tomato, and rotating weekly specials). We’re a small, welcoming fast casual counter-service restaurant with an artistic touch and a strong commitment to quality and community. About the position
We are looking for enthusiastic applicants with a passion for food and great service to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Greet guests in a friendly and timely manner
Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently using Square POS system
Pour & Package orders Soup, Drinks and Sandwiches
Make Sandwiches, grilled cheese, Italian street sandwich
Run orders to guests
Heat Soups
Ensure guest satisfaction by providing excellent customer service - checking in with guests asking how is everything - pouring water asking if they need anything
Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
Daily closing restaurant clean up, dish, mop, bathroom, take out trash etc.
Daily Opening - set up, light prep and line inventory
Stocking Paper Goods, drinks and line items
Wiping down, sweeping and cleaning equipment
Dishwashing - everyone chips in here
Qualifications:
Previous experience in the food industry or hospitality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills for handling payments and making change
Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with kitchen staff
Strong guest relations skills to provide exceptional service

Job Type: Part-time and full-time
Pay: $20 per hour + Shared Tips
