New restaurant hiring for all staff (oakland lake merritt / grand)
The team from The Morris has opened their new restaurant, "Sirene" in Oakland and is hiring All Positions (FOH: manager, cafe staff, support team, servers)
Sirene is an unpretentious neighborhood bistro serving locally sourced California cuisine focusing on seafood, veggies, and fried chicken.
Our sister restaurant, The Morris, is listed on the SF Chronicle's Top 88 Restaurants and was a James Beard semi-finalist for our wine program in 2020 and finalist in 2024. Please look them up, or come by to chat if you're thinking of applying.
For servers, a basic understanding of wine is a must, but we are happy to build off of that foundation. We are also looking to hire coffee obsessed baristas for our morning service coffee bar, any support staff looking for an opportunity to grow, and managers that want to lead this team with the backing of Executive Chef Gavin Schmidt and Owner Paul Einbund.
Our ideal candidates will be warm, engaged individuals interested in working with likeminded people. Someone who understands service at the highest level, but wants deliver those high standards in an unbuttoned, approachable atmosphere. We're a small group that prides themselves on being kind and compassionate to everyone that walks through our doors, because at the end of the day we know our guests see the value we place on respecting them, our environment, and our product.
We will be a small, pooled house that has an open tip structure that benefits our entire staff. We can and will discuss in the interview process.
