What You’ll Do
As a Team Member at Foodhall, you’ll play a hands-on role in our kitchen, preparing food with care and ensuring every guest has an exceptional experience. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing meats, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning.
- Cooking a variety of menu items (such as bacon, sausage, sautéed vegetables, pasta, and chicken).
- Operating kitchen equipment including stove, griddle, Rational oven.
- Preparing fresh salads, sandwiches, and to-go meals with consistency and care.
- Portioning ingredients and supporting beverage prep.
- Working efficiently and with urgency to meet daily prep and delivery deadlines.
- Receiving, unloading, and properly storing deliveries.
- Keeping cold storage and dry storage organized.
- Communicating inventory needs, safety concerns, or equipment issues to management.
- Engaging with customers, vendors, and delivery drivers in a professional way.
- Using tablets and digital tools for daily tasks.
- Supporting training and mentoring of new team members.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by cleaning, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and handling waste every shift.
- Always maintaining a neat and clean personal appearance; wearing provided hairnets and aprons during food prep.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support Foodhall’s daily operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of prior experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
- Basic math skills for measuring, portioning, and organizing.
- Able to make quick, sound decisions and adapt to the day’s needs.
- Comfortable working quickly and maintaining consistency during busy shifts.
- Comfortable standing and moving at a steady pace for extended shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry boxes up and down stairs as part of deliveries and storage.
- Manual dexterity and hand coordination for food prep.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn commercial kitchen equipment, including the Rational oven.
- Current food safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Availability for early morning shifts and weekends is required.
- Bonus: Experience handling seafood and preparing sushi.
