Hello! I am a man with a physical disability hiring personal care attendants for weekend mornings and AM backup shifts. This is a great part-time and on-call opportunity right near transit in Oakland. Prior caregiving experience is helpful but not required!
Shifts:
Weekends: between 7:00-10:00 AM and 7:00 AM-12:00 PM, for 8 hours/weekend total (regular every other weekend AND backup shifts available)
Weekdays: 5:30-8:30 AM (backup shifts)
Pay: $29.05/hr
Attendants must be able to work for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) and pass a background check: IHSS pays $19.05/hour and I give an extra $10/hour.
IHSS providers are also eligible for benefits and overtime with enough hours.
Responsibilities include:
- Stretches
- Pivot transfers to/from wheelchair
- Bathroom assistance (includes bladder and bowel care)
- Showering & shaving
- Dressing
- Breakfast prep
- Cleaning, laundry and organizing
What I'm looking for in an attendant:
- Responsible & thorough
- Timely
- Boosted & willing to mask on the job
- Good communicator
I'm located in Oakland Chinatown, near BART stops and an 880 off-ramp.
