I am looking to cover the morning shift, 6:30am - 2:30pm, for all days of the week, and will consider anyone able to take even a single shift.
The patient is a 28 year old young man weighing about 130 lbs. He has a hospital-style bed and his room is equipped with a Voyager overhead lift for transfers, but if you have physical limitations that might affect your ability to position him in bed please bear this information in mind. He is severely disabled and non-verbal, so this is a job for a very empathetic person with the patience and willingness to keep him engaged despite his limitations.
This position is in my home and the patient is my son; I am not running an agency or clinic. You must be eligible to work as an IHSS caregiver in Santa Cruz County and be willing to undergo a Live Scan background check or have one on file somewhere.
Potential candidates replying to my ads seem to prefer to be contacted by phone. But I'm finding it hard to get anyone to pick up, perhaps because it's from a number they don't recognize. When you email, please be sure to read my reply to find out the number you should expect a call from.
