Our dermatology practice offers patient-centric care in a boutique environment to busy young professionals. We offer medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. We do not accept medical insurance so we spend more time with less patients in a more intimate medical setting than your higher volume, insurance based practice. Therefore the position requires flexibility in serving as receptionist, medical assistant and patient coordinator for a single provider.
Clinic schedule 10am - 6pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in-office
Example of daily tasks on TWR): greet and room patients, obtain medical history, take notes during visits, help check patients out / review procedure pre and post-care, review skincare recommendations, send prescriptions
Administrative support schedule Monday and Fridays
full-time available in office 10am-6pm or 9am-5pm M/F OR work from home on administrative days 2-3 hours on M/F for part-time hours
Example of admin tasks on M/F: answer phones, schedule patients, respond to emails, follow-up with patients, stock and track inventory, order supplies, organize drawers and cabinets for clinic

Responsibilities:
1. Receptionist/Patient Coordinator Duties
- Answer phones, schedule patient appointments and address patient concerns and questions
- Checks messages and returns calls in timely manner
- Warmly greets patients and escorts them to exam rooms as needed
- Willing to gain knowledge regarding skin care products, cosmetic and medical treatments and counsel patients appropriately
- Discuss cost over the phone and in person of services
- Process cash and credit card payments
- Maintain product inventory, restock and order as necessary
- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
- Maintain professionalism and practice HIPAA/HITECH/Privacy regulations
2. Primary Medical Assistant Duties
- Escort patients to exam rooms and confirm reason for visit
- Obtain short history, allergy and medication list as required by patient’s chief complaint
- Set up exam room according to scheduled procedure
- Anticipate doctor's needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely
- Get to know regular patients and facilitates a comfortable, patient-focused, inviting environment
- Confirm all required consents are presented, read, and signed by patients
- Assist doctor with biopsies and surgical procedures such as excisions, ED&C, cryo therapy, laser surgery, etc.
- Assist doctor with cosmetic procedures, Botox/Dysport, fillers and cosmetic lasers
- Educate patient as required after physician establishes the treatment plan after developing a comfort level with doctor specific counseling
- Willingness to learn about dermatology conditions, medications, and treatment plans
- Ensure that the patient understands the treatment plan, understands the proper use of their medications, and exhibits patience with counseling patients in-person and over the phone
- Straighten and cleans exam rooms after patient visits
- Perform procedures such as suture removal, dressing applications and changes
- Completely and correctly fills out all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents for patients as required by physician
- Tracks biopsy results and ensures patient's results have been reported
- Take before and after photos for cosmetic treatments
- Unpack and stock medical supplies in exam rooms
- Perform all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization
- Perform other duties and tasks as needed
