Experienced Personal Care Attendant Needed
Downtown Berkeley, near University & MLK
Day Shift, 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday-Thursday
Starting at $19.50/hour with possible overtime work at $29.25/hour. Paid breaks included. Must be registered with the IHSS Alameda County or willing to enroll.
About me: I am a professional active 55-year-old quadriplegic man with a C5/6 spinal cord injury, looking for a personal attendant for assistance in daily living and personal healing.
About you: I’m looking for someone who is physically active, attentive, patient, a good communicator, and mentally sharp with a positive attitude. Training is provided. Two-week trial period to start.
This is NOT a companion job. This is a hands on, physical caregiving job.
Responsibilities and Duties:
-Range of motion
-Transferring using Hoyer lift
-Showering, personal grooming and dressing
-Bladder and bowel care
-Cooking and preparing meals
-Light cleaning, laundry, and medication management
-Assistance driving to go to doctor’s appointments and run errands
-Repositioning for wound management
References required. Valid driver’s license a plus. Non-drinkers/non-drug users preferred.
