Summary/Objective
The Patient Reception Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience in scheduling appointments, checking in or out, and providing benefits counseling. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: answering all incoming phone calls, schedule management, data entry into electronic health records, verifying insurance and appointments, taking payments, opening & closing front office daily.
Work Schedule: 5 Days/Week, Saturday's a must (8:30 AM-5:30 PM weekdays, Saturday 9:00 AM-4:00 PM).
Essential Functions

Responsible for the following areas of patient care: telephone reception, greeting patients, assisting patients with forms, benefits counseling, preparing bills, scheduling appointments
Pulls insurance and scans insurance cards, collects payments with accuracy
Collects and enters patient demographics and insurance information into medical record
Manages the schedule - makes, changes and cancels appointments as necessary; ensures appointments are verified prior to day of appointment; pre-appoints and recalls to ensure daily, monthly and year-end comprehensive exam goals are met.
Opens and closes front office, ensures financials are balanced at end-of-day, prepares deposit
Straightens up reception area throughout the day
Assists other team members in other departments if needed
Performs other incidental and related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications
Must have computer skills and the ability to learn EHR system
Must have at least one year of experience in reception and/or customer service
Strong ability to multi-task with high degree of accuracy; attention to detail is critical
Excellent customer service
Strong analytical & problem solving skills
Superior verbal & written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills are essential
