We are seeking an honest, caring and dependable in-home caregiver to assist a sweet elderly gentleman in Menlo Park, between 20-25 hours per week. The caregiver will help with daily living tasks to ensure comfort, safety, well-being and companionship, ideally for the following work schedule: Monday - Thursday from 10-2PM, and one weekend day, from
10-3 PM. Must like cats because we have 2 indoor only Persian cats.
Responsibilities:
Assist with personal care: personal hygiene & grooming, exercising, dressing, toileting, possible bathing and wound care.
Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met, along with doing related clean up.
Perform light housekeeping, such as laundry, weekly changing of sheets, and maintaining a neat and tidy living space.
Monitor health and well-being (blood pressure, blood oxygen, temperature) and provide medication reminders when needed.
Offer companionship through conversation, daily exercising and/or outings.
Support mobility and assist with transportation to doctors appointments or transfers when necessary.
Run errands, including grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions.
Feed Cats, give fresh water, and clean litter box during shift.
Keep care records and update family members as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience in caregiving preferred but not required.
Patience, empathy, integrity, and good communication skills.
Ability to follow care plans and instructions.
Basic cooking and housekeeping skills.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift or assist with transfers up to [60] pounds.
Capable of standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Benefits:
Competitive pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
Between 20-25 hours per week, ideally for the following work schedule: Monday - Thursday from 10-2PM, and one weekend day from 10-3 PM.
