48 y/o medical director (physician) seeking a LIVE-IN caretaker 24/7. You get to live in a beautiful apartment complex with a gorgeous resort-style heated and salt-water pool, rooftop with fire pits, barbecue, large TV, and great views! Your rent will be covered. This is to off-set expenses for caretaking. You will need to sign the lease but I will pay your portion.
Female preference as this is a live-in position.

I was working full-time until January when I was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease. I was in the hospital for 3 months, where I received inpatient rehab and was hopeful that in time, I would make a full recovery. Unfortunately, I sustained a really bad fall last week with a concussion and severe blow to the low back. My 77-year old parents were helping but they have their own health issues and need to return home (Michigan) to see their own physicians. My mother has left, but father is here until I find the right person.
How I describe myself:
- Silly and playful. I may be 48, but in my head I'm 25. I love music, TV series and movies since I can't do much yet. Before I became ill, you could find me in my living room dancing and singing, or working on my computer (preparing presentations, lectures, etc.).
- Now, because I'm pretty limited, I'm in my room on my bed a lot with my heating pad, watching TV, chatting on the phone, organizing doctors appointments, listening to audio books, meditating, and right now sleeping.
- I WANT to get well, (I'm a rehab, sports medicine, and pain doc) so I know what to do to improve), so I need someone who will take me for a walk (not very far yet) and encourage me daily to do so but not by being pushy (I know my capacity). Help me safely get on/off my inversion table.
What else I need help with:
- Potentially bathing (getting in and out of the tub).
- Massage
- Simple meals and smoothie preparation
- Medication and supplement dispensing
- Making bed and keeping apartment tidy
- Dishes and laundry
- Maintaining an organized home
- Helping me with organizing things
- Taking me to the ER and advocating for me if needed. (I've been a teacher my entire career and will teach you what to do. Let me help you help me!)
- Wheelchair, walker, etc. assistance
- Taking vital signs (Temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, pulse Oxygenation). All very easy with my automated device. I will teach you how to do this manually with a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff as well.
- Laundry, dusting, vacuuming
- Helping to organize healthcare related tasks as needed
- Help me color my gray hairs (roots)
- Additional tasks as needed.

THIS ROLE IS PERFECT FOR a pre-med, med school, nursing school, or someone interested in a MS or PhD in Physiology who thinks they can manage with their school responsibilities, etc., or a student taking a gap year. There is a lot I can teach you. We can agree on dates and time off. I'm flexible as long as the major tasks are completed.
