Duties include, but are not limited to, personal care assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating, and going to bed. Occasionally, I travel to the doctor's or a friend's house or a nearby swimming pool or bicycle ride for exercise, requiring a caregiver to accompany me.
A little bit about me:
I am a disabled woman blessed with an active life and amazing friends. Working from home, I am an advocate for persons with disabilities. Through my education and knowledge, I have served the disabled community for more than 30 years. I must be able to rely on a well-oiled machine to be of service. I am driven and passionate in what I do. I enjoy swimming, cycling, and cooking good food with a caregiver’s assistance for fun and relaxation.
What I am Looking For: I am looking for somebody with experience in caregiving, though I will train the right candidate for the job, who has the qualities, abilities, and skills to do the job who is a self starter, but also someone who can understand and take direction and correction, keeping in mind the goals of the day. The person applying for this position must understand the importance of their work, take responsibility for doing the best job they can, and assist me with getting to and through my day so that I may do what I do to help those in need. The person is dependable, honest, and operates with integrity.
My goal is to hire someone to be part of a team, a team player who understands what we are all working towards each day, taking pride in their work, assisting a person with a disability who works daily to help improve the lives of people with disabilities. I am looking for someone who is a self-starter, arrives on time, and understands the need for routine in the lives of people with disabilities and what it means when those routines are interrupted. Within the need for routine, there is also the need for flexibility when things don’t go as planned, and plan B requires thinking outside of the box to reach the goals at hand. Flexibility to fill in when a team member is ill or out of town is also appreciated. A sense of humor is crucial because we all need to laugh occasionally, even just a little.
I look forward to meeting you and discussing the possibilities of working together.
Please text me a bit about yourself, explain why you are interested in my job, and arrange a Zoom interview. I'm hiring now. Text is best for me before calling.
