Male Lead Caregiver in a 12 Bed Facility in West San Jose, CA

Position Overview:

The Lead Caregiver is responsible for supporting daily care operations, ensuring high-quality resident care, and guiding caregiving staff throughout the shift. This role provides hands-on assistance, oversees task completion, and promotes a safe, nurturing environment for all residents.

Key Responsibilities:

-Resident Care & Safety

-Provide direct care to residents, including assistance with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

-Support meal preparation, feeding assistance, hydration, and mobility.

-Monitor residents’ physical, emotional, and behavioral changes and report concerns promptly.

-Ensure a clean, comfortable, and safe living environment.

-Leadership & Team Support

-Lead, guide, and support caregivers throughout the shift.

-Ensure staff complete all shift duties, including cleaning tasks and resident care responsibilities.

-Serve as an extra hand on the floor to assist staff with resident needs, activities, and housekeeping as needed.

-Provide reminders, coaching, and support to promote teamwork and high standards of care.

-Participate in brainstorming sessions to improve daily operations and workflows.

Communication & Coordination:

-Offer clear verbal and written communication during shift reports.

-Assist with interviewing potential caregivers and providing input during evaluations.

-Support the assessment process for potential new residents.

-Communicate supply needs, safety concerns, and resident updates to management.

Compliance & Standards:

-Ensure the care environment and caregiving team remain prepared for state inspections at all times.

-Follow all facility policies, licensing regulations, and resident care plans.

-Maintain accurate documentation including charts, logs, and incident reports.

-Emergency & Staffing Support

-Respond to resident emergencies and provide support until management or medical services arrive.

Qualifications:

-Experience as a caregiver in an RCFE or similar senior-care setting.

-Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

-Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and support a team environment.

-Knowledge of ADLs, dementia care, safety procedures, and state regulations (preferred).

-Must pass background check, health screening, and required trainings.

Physical Requirements:

-Ability to assist residents from sit to stand position, pivot, and transfer residents safely.

Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Ability to assist with Hoyer lifts and other mobility equipment (if applicable).

Housekeeping & Laundry:

This is expected for all to make sure these tasks are done

Compensation:

$21/hr starting

Shift:

Tues-Sats 3:30pm-12am
