Nurse Practitioner Needed for Outpatient Vascular Surgery Practice

Full-time position available immediately in a well established, fast-paced surgical practice. Our office prides itself on our relationships and on being able to deliver the best in surgical care to our patients. We are looking for an experienced Nurse practitioner to help both with seeing patients in the clinic, assisting physicians with angiography and venous procedures, and helping provide moderate sedation and occasional nursing care to our operative patients.

We are searching for a mature, responsible, punctual, dependable team member that understands and values customer service, health and the importance of treating patients like family. Must be self-motivated, require little supervision, and be willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our team. Must display excellent organizational and communication skills. A professional appearance, attention to detail, good verbal skills and public relations skills are a must. Excellent written and spoken English is required.

This is a KEY position and requires all of the above. Please only respond to this ad if you feel you have all of these qualifications and are looking for a long-term position. We need someone to start this summer. Would be willing to consider excellent part- time candidate, but must be able to work at least 3-4 full days /week.

Responsibilities

Prescribe medication, examine patients, diagnose illnesses and provide treatment

Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests

Gather health histories, perform physical examinations and diagnostic procedures

Develop and implement treatment plans

Document all patient interactions; write letters to referral physicians and insurance authorizations for procedures

Notify managing physician about unusual or unexpected events or problems

Effectively communicate with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, patients, and families

Requirements and skills:

Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses in the state of California

National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited agency.

Master’s in Nursing required, Doctorate of Nursing preferred.

Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner at a physician practice or in a hospital with a related specialty is strongly preferred.
