Occupational Therapy/Educational Aide for Young Adult TBI Survivor

We are seeking an aide to support our 18-year-old son, a traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivor, in his daily activities, including returning to high school, attending therapies, and engaging in therapeutic activities to achieve personal goals. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring occupational therapists seeking experience with neurological injuries.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a therapeutic background and work closely with our son to assist him with day-to-day responsibilities. This includes transportation to therapies, attending his classes with him at his new high school, and engaging him in therapeutic activities that align with his occupational goals.

Our son is a bright, philosophical, empathetic, and articulate young man who is making remarkable progress after a severe brain injury sustained from a biking accident. We are hoping to find a caring and creative aide to provide both educational and occupational therapy support in and outside of the school environment, but there is flexibility within the role responsibilities. The selected candidate will receive direct training from his current occupational therapy aide and will have access to mentoring from his Occupational Therapist
