Registered Dental Hygienist & Dental Assistant

Boulder Creek Dental is currently looking for a dental hygienist and a dental assistant to join our practice. Dr. Johnson has been practicing at BCD for over 20 years. Our office is open Monday-Thursday, we are flexible with the hours and days you want to work. Our office is very much like a family. We have a very friendly and relaxed office environment with beautiful views of the Santa Cruz mountains. New graduates encouraged to apply. We have new hygiene instruments and are hoping to have a dedicated x-ray tech to assist as well.

Hygienist Responsibilities:

Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride and sealants, and root planning.

Complete a thorough assessment of the patient's teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, and document any abnormalities or suspected conditions.

Proficient in developing hard copy x-ray film when needed and digital x-rays.

Qualifications:

Registered Dental Hygienist

Excellent interpersonal skills

Dependable

Proven dedication to provide high quality, comprehensive dental care

Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment

Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, and equipment including hard copy x-ray film when needed and digital x-rays

License/Certification:

CPR Certified

X-Ray Certification (Required)

Proficient in developing hard copy x-ray film when needed and digital x-rays

Position includes paid sick days and vacation days.

Our friendly dental practice is also looking to expand our staff with an additional person who can help in the back office. We are looking for an assistant (DA or RDA). Canidate must be professional, responsible, reliable, self-sufficient, good patient communicator, quick learner and able to multi-task.

Duties include but are not limited to: opening office 30 minutes prior to first appointment, making sure instruments are sterilized for the day and that the first patients are set up for. Posting the days schedule in every operatory. You will help with the set-up and breakdown of operatories, re-stocking office and operatories, sterilizing instruments between procedures, taking x-rays and developing them, assisting the Doctor chair side as needed, helping the hygienist with charting or x-rays, back office supply ordering, seating patients, laundry, helping maintain cleanliness if the office, preparing charts and schedule for the following business day, confirmation calls, sending prescriptions via dose spot, as well as closing duties for the office end of day.

We are currently using traditional films for x-rays and our FMX's consist of a panoramic, 4 BW's and 2 PA's. We hope to be including digital X-rays in the near future.

Must have x-ray license. After 90 days you will get 3 paid sick days, free dental for yourself (minus lab fees) and discounted dental care for your immediate family. Additionally, after one year of employment you will be eligible for One week paid vacation (one week paid vacation is determined by your average work week from the year prior)
