Our office is looking for a kind, compassionate, efficient, cooperative, patient, self-motivated Registered Dental Hygienist to work 2 or 3 days per week, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and/or Fridays. Our previous hygienist just finished a graduate program and is excited to try her new skills at an office that can utilize them!
We are a well-established and highly respected dental practice in San Pablo, in the heart of West Contra Costa County in the East Bay. We have a loyal patient base of patients who come regularly from San Pablo, Richmond, Pinole, El Cerrito, Berkeley, Oakland, even as far as Sacramento, San Francisco, and San Jose.
We have an experienced staff that works well together, several of whom have been with the practice for more than 10 and 15 years and most at least 5. We want to find a hygienist who can communicate well and work as an efficient member of a team.
We work on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8am-5pm, and see 7 patients, an hour each with a 1.5 hour lunch. Fridays are our early start, early finish days: we work from 7am-2pm, and you would see 6 patients, also an hour each with a half hour lunch. We primarily need help Thursdays and/or Fridays. Wednesdays are optional. Important to note is with our previous hygienist's Wednesday/Thursday schedule she worked from 8:30am-5pm with a one hour lunch, but we are transitioning back to the normal schedule over time, unless that schedule works better for you.
You will primarily help provide care for preventative visits, such as prophies and perio maintenance. You may occasionally do one to two quadrants of root planing. You are responsible for taking your own check-up x-rays and turning over your own room, and we do the exam in your chair. We see new patients separate from their hygiene visits, not in the same hour in a hygiene chair.
Our pay is competitive for the surrounding West Contra Costa County area and will be discussed. In addition, we provide generous benefits, even for part-time employees, such as health insurance, dental, 401(k), holiday pay, vacation time, license renewals, time off for CE, well days, and bonuses, scaled to the number of days worked. Full-time is considered 4 days per week, so if you work 1 day, your benefits would be scaled to 25% of full-time, 2 days per week is 50%, and 3 days is 75% Spanish speaking is a plus but not necessary and would be taken into consideration.
