We are looking for someone to join our team! As an SUD counselor at Sobriety Works, you will never work weekends. and we offer health insurance, vacation, sick leave and more. Evening hours are strongly preferred, but open to discussing options. Qualified candidates will be paid based on experience. Hourly pay ranges from $27 - $32.
Sobriety works delivers Medi-Cal SUD treatment in partnership with Santa Cruz County. The incumbent will be supervised by the Clinical Director and CEO. Duties will include providing the following services, maintaining timely and accurate records for client charts in Avatar (electronic records):
Client orientation
Problem list (formerly treatment planning)
groups of no more than 12
crisis intervention
individual sessions
care coordination
consultation with clinical team and outside providers
discharge planning
Specific duties include: Preparation and delivery of group counseling on various recovery topics using the evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Psychoeducation, Relapse Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), etc. as trained
The evening shift requires availability from approximately 2pm – 10pm. IOT groups are scheduled M-W-F from 6-9pm. This schedule is preferred but we will discuss options with the right candidate!
Attend weekly clinical meetings on Monday afternoons
Provide support and assistance to clients in planning and attaining their treatment goals
Interact with family members and their children, obtaining ages, names and living arrangements, offering collateral sessions and support
Drug test clients as policy is outlined
Coordinate outside health and resource services for beneficiaries
Attend a yearly training related to the performance of Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA)
Track and meet compliance timelines for documentation
Maintain open communication by adhering to proper lines of authority and organizational structure.
Staff members are representatives of Sobriety Works when in the community, as role models for clients and co-workers, and must behave accordingly.
Education minimum and Special Requirements: Valid registration with CCAPP or CADTP while completing hours prior to certification as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor; or Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor; or CA BBS-registered AMFT or ASW intern; or CA BBS Licensed LMFT or LCSW
One year of experience working directly with substance use disorder clients in a group or individual capacity.
Knowledge and experience with all TAP 21: Addiction Counseling Competencies.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus with additional benefits.
