Our hospital is well maintained and equipped, and the team is very tight knit and supportive of one another. We are looking for a candidate with at least 1-2 years of veterinary experience. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant or RVT at VCA Animal Wellness Center of Marin you will play a vital role in assisting our veterinarians in providing top-notch care to our beloved animal patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a facility that prioritizes the health, safety, and emotional well-being of both pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities:
Veterinary Assistants are expected to be proficient in:
Radiology
Laboratory work
Venipuncture
Pharmacy
Patient recovery
Compassionate care of our hospitalized animals
Client education
Anesthesia and dentistry would be ideal, but is not required
RVT's are expected to be proficient in the above skills, plus:
Anesthesia monitoring
Surgical preparation and assisting
Dentistry
Catheter placement
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year in the veterinary setting
Passion for animal care and well-being.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle animals with care and compassion.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
Fear Free Certification is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $22-32 / hour depending on licensing and experience.
