Employment Opportunity
Why: Recently my grandfather fell and has been admitted to an acute rebab facility in Vacaville. I’ve been visiting over the holidays but unfortunately need to return back to where I currently live abroad. That means that I can no longer see/speak/assist my grandfather with making a recovery.
When: Immediately. Daily, from the hours of 11:00AM – 4:00PM(weekends as well if you can swing it). This is a day-by-day type of gig. If he gets discharged in say two weeks from the rehabilitation facility, then that’s how long this gig will last. If it takes a month then it will last a month. If it goes out longer than that then we can touch base, but I’d like to see this gig last as long as he’s in the rehabilitation facility. Disclaimer, I’ll likely return back for a two week stretch in January so I’ll sub in during that time but after I leave and if he’s still admitted to the rehabilitation facility then this gig can continue.
What: You’ll be calling me on WhatsApp(If you don’t have WhatsApp then this gig is not for you) so that I can communicate with not only you but also my grandfather. Ensuring that he eats his meals, gets out of bed and into his wheelchair(which the nurse will assist with but they could likely be reminded), drinks liquids(so he’s not dehydrated), gets some social interaction with you, and really just be my “eyes” and “ears”.
Who: My grandfather. He’ll be 100 years old(that’s right, a century) next year and I very much am looking forward to celebrating his upcoming birthday. This is someone who has given a lot back to his community and worked nearly his entire life. You would be playing a pivotal role in ensuring that this 100th birthday happens. He’s also quite a pleasant person that enjoys watching wildlife outside, chit chatting and sports on tv(tv reception is not the best but it is what it is).
Pay: $100/day via Zelle. If you don’t accept Zelle then please move on. I will pay you at the end of each day(you just have to provide me your number linked to Zelle).
