The Team
Its a little clichéed, but HR Managers at Fort Point wear a lot of hats. Were a fast growing company with a lot going on and were looking for someone to join our growing HR team to help support candidates and new employees through that growth.
The Role
The Director of People at Fort Point Beer Company is responsible for organizing and executing on all activities related to hiring, on-boarding and administering benefits for company employees. This includes recruiting diverse, qualified individuals to fill open roles and working with hiring managers to shepherd candidates through our hiring process. The Director of People is responsible for communicating with all candidates and managing our open requisitions. After a hire is made, the HR Director manages on-boarding sessions for the new employee, conducting their orientation and scheduling required training. They will also maintain personnel files, administer benefits, and act as a resource for employees.
The Director of People originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
The Director of People coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through support staff; reports to the CEO and serves on the management team; and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.
Primary Responsibilities
Clearly communicate the roles and responsibilities of the Human Resources
Department to the entire company
Develops and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company
Work alongside hiring managers and directors to recruit qualified candidates for open positions
Rebuild and administer on-boarding sessions
Performance management and improvement systems
Policy development and documentation
Prepare assets and systems for new employees
Educate new employees on benefits, rights, and company policies
Schedule cross department orientations and training sessions
Manage pre-payroll register of hours and PTO
Assist employees with benefits enrollment
Reorganize and maintain personnel files both in digital and print formats
Conduct and/or coordinate ongoing training, employee engagement and career advancement sessions
Secondary Responsibilities
Assist hiring managers and directors with job descriptions and job postings
Requirements
Bachelors degree
Excellent written and verbal communication
Previous HR management experience
Highly detail oriented and organized
Reliable, responsible and proactive attitude
Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment
Flexible and adaptable to change; ability to learn new software platforms
Ability to follow and communicate the companys policies and procedures
