People Relations / Restaurant Experience Manager
San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin Counties

We are creating a new position within the company to regularly engage directly with our
restaurant level team members. Listening to each other, inspiring new ideas amongst the team
and recognizing the hard work of our restaurant staff will be the key intentions of this role. Our
new People Relations / Restaurant Experience Manager will lead this active engagement in all
12 of our McDonald’s restaurants.
You will primarily:
Establish and manage Restaurant Leadership Councils (RLC) in each of our restaurants
Help the General Manager identify and engage members of the restaurant team to
participate in the RLCs, no less than once per calendar quarter
Follow-up with the RLCs on operational or HR opportunities for improvement discussed
Provide regular reports to the General Managers, Mid-Management, the Vice President of
Operations and the President of the Company, the findings on operational and HR
opportunities at the restaurant level
Help to develop company-wide plans to address shortcomings or to celebrate work place
successes, communicating best practices on a regular basis
Spearhead the new People Brand Standards, recommended by the franchisor to all
franchisees in the United States, at each of our 12 franchised restaurants
Additionally, you will:
Manage and address (end-to-end) all escalated employee relations situations across
internal leadership groups, from the restaurant’s management team to mid-management
Provide Employee Relations support, thought partnership, and coaching for all team
members and levels of management in the organization
Liaise with legal teams (external) for guidance and resolution on sensitive issues,
coordinating through the Company’s HR Director
Oversee all aspects of the anonymous employee concern reporting and conflict of interest
reporting tools
Assist the HR Director to design, implement, and oversee HR compliance, employment
policies and processes (to include but not limited to: company, local, state and federal laws,
etc) in North America
Create projects and programs, including creating communications, training materials, and
other change management mechanisms to educate restaurant team members on new and
revised policies, processes, and programs
Proactively and effectively address complex people issues; mitigating risk and managing
situations that result in the best possible outcomes for the company, teams, and people
Stay up to date on all related subject matter, in order to provide expertise and ensure
organizational compliance with all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to
employment/labor laws.
Consistently review and update existing processes, systems, and policies for improvement
Proactively assess team and manager development needs, make recommendations, and
implement appropriate solutions

scratch/ideation to implementation at the restaurant level
A person who leads with integrity, respect, and high standards
Someone with a great sense of humor, as well as humility and curiosity
You have:
2+ years of Employee Relations, HR Business Partner or equivalent experience
Experience in project management, change management and creating programs
Demonstrated solid judgment and experience assisting risk relative to the business
Expertise in drafting, validating and sharing out policies
Experience using data to identify insights that drive action (employee satisfaction,
monitoring turnover, training success trendlines, etc.)
Strong grasp of US and state-specific labor/employment law and practices, especially
related to non-exempt workforce
Great understanding of employment/labor laws for the areas in which we operate
Prior success in implementing HR policies and strategy from the ground up in global and/or
matrix organizations who are scaling
BA/BS Degree in related field preferred, but not required
Last but not least, love for the Golden Arches. You have to love Quarter Pounders, Happy
Meals and McFlurries!
Reports to: HR Director
Salary: $63K - $75K dependending on experience

This role requires travel up to 50%. Additional walking, stooping, sitting, and mobility may
be required. Exposure to outside environmental elements may be experienced due to travel
through airports, airplanes, and in between facilities
