Boat Detailer Job Description
We are looking for a Boat Detailer to join our team and provide excellent customer service while providing exceptional Boat cleaning services for our customers.
Boat Detailer responsibilities include cleaning vessels according to the needs of our customers by performing detailed inspections, washing, and buffing to restore the appearance of the vessel to company standards.
Ultimately, you will work with a small team of Boat Detailers to ensure each vessel is cleaned according to our organization’s quality standards and the request of our customers.
Boat Detailer candidates must have excellent attention to detail to ensure they clean the inside and outside of the vessel to restore the boat to pristine condition.
Primary Responsibilities
Cleaning the interior and exterior of vessels using a variety of products and methods
Apply protective finishes to the exteriors of our customers’ boats
Perform inspections to ensure that each step of the cleaning process has been completed
Document the completion of each detail job with photos and/or descriptions
Requirements and skills
High school diploma or GED
At least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Must have reliable personal transportation
Ability to operate a vacuum, power washer and hose
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to take direction
Attention to detail with amazing customer service skills
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including walking, crouching, bending, and standing for extended periods
Willingness to comply with all company policies and uphold standards for service quality
Availability to work primarily in Santa Cruz Harbor on weekdays. Possibly Monterey Harbor as necessary
Ability to swim is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven work experience as a Car or Boat Detailer or similar role
Relevant training as a Car or Boat Detailer is highly desirable
At least one year of professional experience in the Marine industry
Associate Degree from an accredited school
