Menches Tool and Die Inc. seeks a detail-oriented and motivated CNC Mill/Lathe programmer to join our team in Hayward, CA. This position involves assisting in fabricating tools, dies, and other precision components used in the aerospace environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, and 3-5 years of experience with CNC mills, lathes, and other manual support equipment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Program and operate various CNC equipment such as CNC mills, lathes, etc. to machine or fabricate components for final assembly.
Mount, align, and secure work holding, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
Follow blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to produce and modify tooling components when required.
Inspect first article tools to ensure they meet precise dimensional and quality requirements using precision measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Work closely with the production teams to ensure tools are produced and meet production schedules and quality standards.
Follow all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Clean and maintain machinery according to department and company standards.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocation training or apprenticeship.
3-5 years of operation experience with CNC Lathes such Mori Seiki (Yasnac control) and Hass strongly preferred.
Proficient in using measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Mathematical ability and problem solving
Strong computer skills
Proficient with any CAD and CAM software
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role.
Excellent manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication skills.
A working knowledge of G and M codes applied in setting and adjusting offsets and interacting with CNC programs
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Work Environment:
Full-time position in a manufacturing setting, 10 hrs shifts
Exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking equipment.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
