JOB DESCRIPTION: Eco Landscape Water Systems Specialist/Project Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and assist with exterior water systems installation: locating/connecting to existing water lines, install new water main lines, install sprinkler and drip systems, connect water timers, install drainage lines, etc.
Read irrigation plans and create basic cost estimates,
Assess existing water systems and assist with water system design for in-town and broad acre properties
Determine water pressure/flow needs, pipe size/type, and backflow prevention as it relates to system design
Oversee general landscape installations and crews
Project coordination and assist with layout- grading, utilities, hard and softscapes
Alternative water system and softscape installation: rainwater, greywater, swales, rain gardens, etc.
Work in and around various landscaping settings/ecosystems
Plant Care: oversee planting, amending, pruning, and diagnosing of plant health issues
Ability to stay organized & communicate effectively with staff and landowners
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have valid CA Driver's License
Experience with both conventional and sustainable landscaping practices and design
Experience with large residential irrigation systems, rainwater, greywater, and drainage
Intermediate to advanced horticultural knowledge
Enjoy working in a team setting
Ability to problem solve
Adaptable to different job demands
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION:
Knowledge/experience with Permaculture-based landscaping
Familiar with California Native Plants
Familiar with AutoCAD
QWEL certified
Familiar with edible landscapes and sustainable agricultural systems
Familiar with local BMP’s
Familiar with Organic approach to Integrated Pest Management
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Experience with building and/or overseeing building of patio, shade structures, dry stack rock walls, paths, trellis’, planters, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Often move lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Pay Rate/Benefits:
$30-$40/hour to start
