We are now recruiting for a Fairgrounds Maintenance Worker, with a starting salary up to $32.37/hour ($67,560/year) and a competitive total compensation package!
Do you have:
A valid Class C driver's license
The ability to work a Thursday through Monday schedule, which may include evenings and holidays
Experience working on event set-up, maintenance, janitorial, and/or construction projects

The Fairgrounds is a unique, year-round venue with more than 100,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor facilities and equestrian arenas. Showcasing the annual County Fair, the grounds are the pride of Sonoma County and preferred venue for many community celebrations. Fairgrounds Maintenance Workers complete a variety of unskilled and semiskilled light and heavy tasks to prepare and maintain the buildings and grounds for upcoming events. Responsibilities may include event set-up, facility preparation, janitorial duties, and grounds keeping activities. The Fairgrounds Maintenance team works Monday through Friday or Thursday through Monday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; and may work evenings, holidays, and outside in sometimes unfavorable weather conditions.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy the fast-paced environment of an event venue. They will also possess many of the following:
Experience with event operations at a fairgrounds or large event venue including the setting and strike of chairs, tables, pipe and drape, and stages
The ability to professionally and effectively interact with management, co-workers, contractors, and the public
Experience operating heavy equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
The ability to effectively apply problem-solving techniques
The ability to read, understand, and execute written instructions, diagrams, layout maps, shop drawings and blueprints, work orders, and operation plans
Knowledge and experience in preparing footing for riding arenas or rodeo grounds is highly desirable
